Where do I shop online for GM parts for less money?

Where can I shop for dealer only items that don't cost me my leg? Need sub frame bushings and the washers that go with them and a couple bolts that hold it in place. Mine are rusted out. Thanks

A great place is GMPartsDirect.com. You have to know the GM part# and shipping charges are high, but the prices are great. I've had good luck with them, just don't expect much customer service.

Actually, you do not need to know the part number, if you go to the parts catalog and enter the make, body style & engine and then select the component location @ GM Parts Direct. I did a quick check for you and found the following part numbers. Please verify these numbers!

Lower Insulator (3/Side) R 14103535
Lower Insulator (3/Side) L 14103535
(3/Side) Bolt, Sub-Frame R 11515765

Re: Where do I shop online for GM parts for less money?

Hotz28 has it right on the part number search. Just double check your numbers, because the nature of that business model makes exchanges difficult. I've personally have had absolutely no problems With GMPartsDirect and really appeciate what they do.

As an example, this week I'm trying to buy the power seat rack for a 2000 PA with memory, heaters and lumbar. I did some research and found the right number to be 88993288 from multiple solid sources. Checking GMPartsDirect, using the catalog model search I couldn't find this number listed, and other part numbers were listed. Had I ordered the part# they listed I might have trouble exchanging a special order part. I emailed them Thursday to check the number and haven't heard back yet. Because the part is expensive and they're looking at $105 for a shipping cost, so I'm trying to make absolutely certain the number is right. You can't call them like other places. Just make sure your numbers are correct when you order.

I also have the 2000 PA. I had to replace the rack on drivers side. It also has memory seat, heated seat and power lumbar. The GM part no. on the the work order was 88993288. I went to GMPartsDirect and entered 88993288 and the page displayed okay. Showed cost of $480.39 and called the part a adjuster.

Go to GMPartsDirect Home Page and then go to customer service. You can enter your email address the the VIN number or you call them with your VIN number and they can give you the correct part number if you still have a question about correct part number.

Re: Where do I shop online for GM parts for less money?

I ordered this part today and I really do appreciate what GMPartsDirect offers. They responded to my email and confirmed that my part number was correct. My only concern was I couldn't get the correct part number using the catalog search. If you do the work to have the right number, everything is fine. I'd imagine that this was an unusual case. With the expensive shipping and warnings about not returning special ordered parts, it's just better to be absolutely sure on your part numbers.

Just an FYI...For used parts a site to check is car-part.com (a clearing house for auto recyclers). I was able to buy a seat "adjuster" assembly for $200 including shipping (a basic assembly...no memory or heat,etc.)...(the assembly was actually new...some sort of overstock). All I wanted was one of the seat motors. I did a little search on the site, but there was not as many "seat tracks" as when I purchased. Just another site to check out.

Re: Where do I shop online for GM parts for less money?

Did you replace a motor and get it working? I found a used seat "adjuster" for $175 at a local yard, but passed because I didn't want to deal with this problem again soon. Any problems or tricks to replacing motors?
