viper responder ford explorer 2002 ED??

Hey guys i am going to bestbuy next week some time have a nice 12% off. I really like the viper responder. One question becuase i forgot to ask them and i kindof like to ask people who are not trying to sell me something. So my question is i have a keyless keypad on the out side of my truck. With the new viper alarm put in will the keyless keypad turn off the alarm? Ford explorer ED 2002 v-8 4.6L.

Re: viper responder ford explorer 2002 ED??

I cannot answer specific to the Viper, but it is unlikely that the keypad will disarm the Viper. Some newer alarms have a disarm output to disarm the factory alarm system, but I have not seen any that have a disarm input to them.

I don't think the 2002 keyless entry system has a disarm output anyway. I haven't checked the 2002 service manual, but I just put an Autopage 2-way remote start system in my 2000 Mountaineer last Saturday and there was no disarm signal from the factory keyless entry/Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module.

Would you rephrase the question? I'm not sure if you're asking a question or making a statement.

I think you are asking what happens if the door code is entered and the door is opened after the aftermarket alarm was armed. If this is what you are asking, when the door is opened, the properly installed alarm will sound (unless you have an entry delay programmed in). You can disarm the aftermarket alarm by disarming with the aftermarket remote or by putting the key in the ignition, turning it to run, and pressing the valet switch. This disarm sequence may vary by manufacturer.
