Acceleration Problems

So i have an 81 Z28. i get in the car the other day. fire it up. Starts fine, then i notice the damn thing wont accelerate at all in drive. Any suggestions??

It is a 305?

Yep, warmed up all the way and it is a 305.

wont move at all. only in reverse.

Does the car have rear drum brakes? Are they releasing?

Have you tried manually selecting a different range (starting in L)?
