Hand Break Light in 01 Altima GXE
I apply hand brake everytime I park my car. Today morning when I released my hand brake, the "brake" light in the dash board didnt switched off. I tried couple of times but it was still there. The brake is released but the light is still glowing in the dash board.
Is it possible that the brake is not released completely?? Can I check or should I show it to a mechanic? Would it leave a hole in my pocket??? Last edited by guy_mu1; 10-23-2006 at 04:16 PM. |

Re: Hand Break Light in 01 Altima GXE
Could be the switch on the handle. The switch works off of the handle being up, or all the way down, not whether the brakes are on or not.Could be low on brake fluid. Not likely that the brakes are not completely released. Is not knowing how to spell brake a good reason that someone should pay to have their brake light diagnosed and repaired?

If light goes out , have break system checked. If fluid level is not low, check e-break switch. GL..
