97' Sonoma Fuel Pump/Gas Reading
I was having problems with my fuel pump. And my gas gauge would always read full. So I replaced my fuel pump, and everything was working fine. Gas Gauge was reading properly, but than the gas gauge stop reading... It just stays at empty. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks. |

Re: 97' Sonoma Fuel Pump/Gas Reading
Welcome to AF, recheck the connectors at the tank for corrosion or looseness first.

Re: 97' Sonoma Fuel Pump/Gas Reading
1.) You have a bad sender. Did you replace the pump or the sending unit?
2.) You have a bad ignition switch. 1997 is the bad year for the bad ignition switch and can cause the problem you are seeing along with stalling, and tranny shifting problems.
