Check engine light

I know autozone does free diagnostics on check engine lights, but is there a way someone can check by doing something from inside the car to get the trouble codes?

Re: Check engine light

You can rent the machine at autozone as well. Using a jumper is not a good idea unless you are sure you will do it right. Good luck.
