i know most of us frown upon street racing...and i know Eclipse4ever just got busted for it and i should have learned from that, but i couldnt resist today. I raced. heres the background story..

This guy at work has been talking shit about my car for a long time now. You know those people who dont know anything about dsms, and so they think that an eclipse is just another slow 4 cylinder pos? Well he keeps telling me how his firebird (v6) would walk away from my car in a race. Then he goes into how id blow a head gasket and blow the turbo just trying to keep up with him. ugh nuff said. we drive somewhat the same way home from work everyday, so there are plently of chances to line up, just always a lot of traffic.

so today, we happen to both pull out in front of all the traffic, and the light in front of us just turns red. I look at him and he starts laughing, and we both reev up a couple times. THAT LIGHT TOOK FOREVER TO CHANGE!!!

i'm revving at about 3500 rpms, and the light turns green and i just drop it and go. i hear him peeling out, and Im peeling out for about 20 feet at redline. then i shift to second and im like instantly at 60mph. i look at him and hes waaaay back there, but keeping up, so i know he didnt give up or anything. we get to the next red light and hes like "not bad..ill have to try next time".

im like "wtf?!?"

ill take it as a win. I get some gas and then i went home. not a bad end to a work week.

yeah ive kinda noticed that. lol for the most part, like 90% of the time, I drive careful and within speed limits. the other 10% of the time, I'll mess around. for example, there is this bridge where i live thats about 4 miles long. I happened to be on it for the very first time at 1:30 am, no other cars, so i decided to do 120mph. real nice and smooth.

since then i usually drive the speed limit over it, its just that sometimes i feel that need to speed.

well since were on the topic... A kid in a ford escort tried to race me granted it was a gt but he had no chance. Even with my turbo not kicking in right and bad syncros in 1st-3rd. No chance. Escorts suck!!

No you want bad, drive a 89 Escort. OMG those things are slow. I learned to drive on one of those badboys, then my brother broke the front axle on it and destroyed the tranny... at the same time :-/

lol sounds horrible. one time i helped a friend move and i used my dad's kia sportage to carry some boxes. holy crap that thing sucks. it was the 4 cylinder almost-base model, i think its like 135 hp. the torque sucks too, i couldnt even brake-torque the rear wheels. and every time i turned i felt the whole body rolling. ugh.. kia

Im not the kinda of person that would show off but yesterday I saw a rice dsm ( I hate people that rice up theyre shit, but when they do it to my kind... I cant take it! ) Im omw home taking hollywood and I see it. 2000 GTS all riced the fuck out. I see him go to the turn, so I follow him. I go up next to him and thumb him down he takes off like hot shit and I laugh because hes racing to a red light. We stop I point to the light and we go off. I have balled tires so I rev up to 2 and half and go.. for the first 2 seconds hes leading and as soon as I pop in 2nd I just BLOW him off. We stop at another light and he just rolls up his tinted window.

Just for future reference, A DSM is an eclipse/talon/laser made from 89-99. Not an 00 and up.
