Question 99' Jimmy won't start

This is the series of events. Topped of gas tank, went to work came out wouldn't start. Wanted to. Noticed Battery Guage said Battery dead, got new one gave shot fluid started right up. Ran 2-3 weeks putting few bucks gas in every now and then ran perfect. Topped off fuel tank again same problem wouldn't start. Now, I've changed fuel relay, fuel filter, fuel pump, and presurres all read what they should now. Wants to start but just can't seem to turn. Stays running till starter fluid runs out. Any other ideas.

What is the fuel pressure reading at?

Also, did you install a Carter pump or a Delphi?

Delphi pressure between 60 - 65. Some one suggested that sensor was telling car it was flooded. Ever run across that?

Does the pressure hold or fall after the truck primes?

Has to be either the battery, the pump, or the pressure regulator.

Also check the fuel filter and replace it.

Battery New, holds charge. Do you mean no curent going thru? pressure regulator is where on this. pump holds the pressure it needs

Only way you get into flood mode, is if you hold the gas pedal to the floor, while craning the engine, in this case the PCM will not fire the injectors and it will purge all the extra gas out of the cylinders.

When you turn the engine over, do you hear the pump working?

That's what I thought. And yes I hear the pump working, there seems to be gas getting there.

If you are getting 65psi and it is holding, I would doubt you have a fuel problem.

Is the check engine light on?

No it's not on. never did come on. And all guages read normal
Guess what it's running. rewired fuel pump. New problem now drippining gas from top of tank. Not seal right? By the way thanks for all your time and energy, was deeply appreciated. it's up and running now. Was nice to be treated like I was capable of doing something and not some dumb girl.

Everyone is equal here.

Get that leak fixed and the pump replaced.

Only use a Delphi unit as well, do not buy a carter pump.

With a rewired pump and a leaking gas tank, you are asking for an explosion.
