Post 02 e-150 miss ??

Got an e-150 with a 4.2 that keeps missing on #5 and occasionally on #4 but neither makes an engine light to come on and stay on but sometimes it does. The fuel filter was clogged, changed it along with the plugs and wires. I pressure cleaned the injectors and listened to them with a stethecope it ran a little better but I still get codes mising on five. It seems to run great until about 55- 60 then I feel a shake/hesitation. Torque convertor?? I don't know but I'm thinking of changing the coil. Well it wasn't the coil. Also I checked the fuel pressure, drove around with the guage on it , and checked the fuel pressure regulator/vac test and fuel drop test Cam sensor?? I also cleaned the MAF sensor and cleaned/tested the EGR. I re-pulled the plug and checked the gap still runs rough around 55 with a slight cough/backfire!! I could really use some usefull advice. I also sprayed carb cleaner around intake and injectors no change.

Re: 02 e-150 miss ??

I'm assuming this has COP's? If so, could still could be the coil, Never got an engine light to come on with my 4.6 either. Found the drivers side rear COP had gotten water in and around the plug. When I pulled the COP I noticed some moisture and rust on and in the rubber boot. Blew out around the plug to make sure it was dry, pulled the plug, replaced it and the COP, Problem solved. Until I hit a patch of water 2 years later, Same thing. Dielectric grease helped a bunch.
