stalling jerking

i have a 89 cherokee 4wd automatic 4.0L the transmission feels like it is about to fall out after i drive it for 15-20min the temp guage reads 190. oil pressure fine. you can put in neutral and cut off restart it put in drive runs fine for 2-3 minutes then starts all over with the jerking, loss of power, and won't get over 30 mph. im thinking it is a sensor because you can cut off and restart and runs fine, but which one? any help would be appreciated!

Re: stalling jerking

Crankshaft position sensor. Do a search in this forum. My transmission also shifted around crazily a couple times before I replaced the sensor.
