What is the scam?
I put a set of tires up for sale in the Recycler, and have gotten 2 different, but almost identical in form offers to buy them from London. They say they have a friend who will arrange shipment and pay with cashiers check. Since I live in Los Angeles area, the offer is insane on the face of it.
Hmmm. Something is rotten here! But I don't know what. How does this scam work?

Scroll down a bit and it explains it all pretty well. Bottom line, it will be a bogus cashiers check for $10k, and they will ask you to use your bank account and wire the balance (10k - amount your tires sold for) to them.
