2001 Alero dash lights dont work, please help!!!
Hello, I am new here and hoping I can get some help w/ my problem. My girlfriend bought a Clarion cd player for her 2001 Alero and after I got it all wired up and installed, her dash lights didn't work. The gauages all work just not lighting. I took it all apart and noticed that I connected the Dimmer (orange w/ white strip) wire to the orange wire on the Clarion unit instead of the Illumination (all orange) wire. So, I fixed that and still no dash lights, I figured it must be the fuse. Checked the fuse, its fine. I also tried the lights without the orange wires connected and still no luck. I have looked all over the internet and have found that lots of people have done this but cant seem to find the solution to fix this problem. So any help that anyone can give me would be great.

Welcome to AF !
You very well may hav toasted something when you hooked it up wrong. Does the warning lights on the dash light up, or is it all dead(except the gauges) ??

Re: 2001 Alero dash lights dont work, please help!!!
thier are fuses for the radio acc, radio batt, even the body control module(bcm) fuse could hav blown. Not sure on thier locations tho.
thier also migth be a maxi fuse under the hood that runs part of the BCM. If those check out ok, its likly the dash clusters bad, I'd pull it and check the lights and see if its not just that. hope that helps.

Did you check the fuses behind the panel on the right side of the dash, or just the one's in the left panel? Not everyone even knows there are fuses on the right side, but that's where the fuses are for instrument panel lighting.
