04 Envoy cluster warning lights

Have a 2004 Envoy XUV with a 4.2L engine. Battery went dead last week and after charging the battery I now have a problem with the warning light in the cluster. Most of the light will not come on when the ignition is turned to the on position. When I start the vehicle the air bag light and the ABS light will stay on.
All gauges in the cluster seem to be operating fine. Volt gauge shows 14 volts running and about 12 volts with ignition on. There is a spark arc when the battery cables are removed. Removed the negative cable one night to see what would happen. The next morning put the cable back on and all light seemed to work correct and all lights went out after I started the vehicle. Tried the vehicle several hours later and the problem was back. Have started the Envoy after a couple of days and the battery was not dead and cranked up OK.
If anyone know what the problem is or how to fix the problem, any and all help would be great.
