new member with 91 PA troublecodes

hi everybody,

my name is Michael and i live in Hamburg in northern germany.
i´m member in german forums dealing with camaro-firebird and BMW cars,
but now i searched the web for informations about my new 1991 PA.
So here i am...

these are the codes:

13 oxygen sensor circuit

31 park - neutral position switch circuit

41 cam sensor citcuit
cylinder select error - memcal or ecm problem

42 bypass or electronic spark timing -est- circuit

66 air conditioning pressure sensor circuit

the 66 is ok, it needs new refrigerant.
the guy who sold the car told me that he had changed the cam sensor and -magnet.
the engine runs great with no rough idling or something like that.

i found out that the park-neutral switch bolts are loose and i will fix that soon.

my question:

is it possible that this switch causes the 41,42 and 13 ??

as i said before, the car runs great ! smooth AND powerfull...

thanks for your help !

Welcome to AF!

The answer to your question is NO! The switch would have nothing to do with the codes you have. It sounds like the person who replaced the timing set & magnet, did not clear the codes after he finished the work. Disconnect the battery (negative lead) for about 10 min. then see if the codes clear. If they reset after driving for awhile, you could still have a problem.

Re: new member with 91 PA troublecodes

Hi,

yesterday i fixed the park-neutral switch and claered the codes by
disconnecting the negativ battery cable vor about 10 minutes or so.

then i started the car an drove for about half an hour with the air cond. off.
a few seconds after starting the ses light came up.
Car ran great... later i read the codes:

the only one still there is the 41, cam sensor circuit.

So i called the guy who replaced the sensor and magnet.
He told me that he had changed the magnet thru the sensor hole, BUT
he put it in the wrong direction. the bottom of the magnet is now front side of the engine.

magnets have a "north" and "south" side.

Could this be the problem?
