Wisdom Teeth

I went in yesterday morning and got them yanked. All four came out without a hitch. The worst part was probably the IV. The nurse could not find a vein for the life of her, and then when she did she was right proud of herself. Ten seconds after I got the drugs I was completely out. About an hour later I was home. Didn't really come back to my sense till about 6:00 PM, my appointment was at 7:45 AM. So far I have zero pain, which seems really weird. I have 18 beautiful little hydrocodone sitting in the other room with nothing to do, what a shame. Anyway, after boring you with this little anecdote, I figured I would share a picture with you all. Enjoy.

Re: Wisdom Teeth

Nice! How are not feeling any pain? Evryone I know who has had their's yanked had their whole face swell up and they were moaning for days.

Anyways, I'm sure you could auction of the unused painkillers here and make a fortune.

Still, I'm sooooooo glad I don't have wisdon teeth. But then again, my teeth aren't exactly perfect anyway. There's a huge post about my dental history on here, I'll find the it later.

Re: Wisdom Teeth

I really don't know how I am not feeling any pain. I iced for 20 minutes when I got home. I have almost zero swelling. It is strange really. Don't think I haven't thought of selling my pills though.

Did you have yours pulled already or are you saying you never had any to begin with? I thought everybody had wisdom teeth. They were a throwback to when we were cavemen (and women) and had a need for them. Over the centuries, evolution occured and our faces changed and our mouths got smaller, thus causing some people to have the need to have them removed.
I had mine out in 1983. Went in the dentist's office at 9 am, was done about an hour and a half later. Went home took a short nap then got up and went about my daily routine. I never had swelling either, in fact, I shocked the dentist when he called my home around 5 pm that day and I answered the phone. He said most of his patients sleep all day and are in discomfort for a couple of days. I don't even think I was given any painkillers. I still have my wisdom teeth that were pulled. They are sitting in a baby food jar in alcohol somewheres here. Back then it cost $500 to pull all 4 teeth. I'd hate to see how much they charge 23 years later .

Re: Wisdom Teeth

Took $900 to get all four of mine pulled. Insurance footed about $700 of it, thank god. They are starting to get achy now. Hope I can still get on with my life tomorrow. We'll see.

Re: Wisdom Teeth

i got one wisdom tooth pulled (i've got 2 left) when they took a tooth out of my jaw (my right bottom canine was sideways under my front 4 lol). i didn't even feel the wisdom tooth, don't know if that was the drugs or if it was because the one in my jaw hurt sooooo much.

Re: Wisdom Teeth

There is this place by me that does walk-ins and pulls teeth for $40 bucks a tooth with insurance or $70 without. I had one of my back molars yanked... it broke in half. I got a Rx for Lortabs too and took a couple before heading into work...

Re: Wisdom Teeth

Shit you're doing good to be able to be up. I was passed out for almost 2 days straight. I've had so many surgeries they had to give me the amount of medicine they'd give someone double my size. I'm immune, haha.

I had one tooth in my sinus cavity, and the other resting over a nerve. I had a black eye, b/c of the surgery. I also bled for almost 3 weeks.

Re: Wisdom Teeth

yes it's true that not everyone is born with wisdom teeth and not everyone has to have theirs removed. i had to have mine done last year and i felt fine at first but the next day or two is when the swelling and pain really set in. so don't find any buyers for those pills quite yet
