Startup issue

My 2000 GMC Sonoma 2.2 hesitates (similar to a backfire with no sound) then starts and will start ok until next morning. Usually on cool damp mornings. After the starting hesitation occurs the motor starts ok remainder of the day. I am leaning toward plug wires. Have replaced plugs and battery 2 years ago. All ideas welcome. THANX

Re: Startup issue

Check out the cap and rotor. One of the wires could have gone bad in two years though.

Oh, didnt notice it was a 2000. Seeing that it was a 4 banger I thought it was an older blazer.

Why is this in the BLAZER forum?

It's in the right place. This isn't the Blazer Forum, it's the S-series Problem Diagnosis forum.

Re: Startup issue

Well V-21 you told me what I had heard not to do (Bosch Plugs). They did ok for 18 months. You sealed the deal....plugs gotta go which means must mess with a/c compressor once again. After I put the Bosch's in I heard several verses of "you'll be sorry"......I'll probably toss a new set of wires at the Sonoma as well.....thanx

This forum is linked between all the S-series forums. (Blazer, Bravada, Jimmy, S-10, and Sonoma. That is why the title above the list of catergories says "S-series Subforums".

If you need any further help understanding the new layouts, please send me a PM. A thread about startup issues is not the proper place.
