more and more people are using the EVOVII in Malaysia but...

More and more people are driving the MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION VII in malaysia but i can never believe that they like the look of it than the VI version. to me it looks tame not like the VI version. just put the two generations of Evos side by side and U can see that the VI version is MUCH MORE BETTER looking than the VII version, trust me..

Australia might be getting its hands on some Evo VII's depending on what RALLIART can pull off. So far we just landed some Evo VI TME's (100 count) and It seems performance drivers are just settling in to such a agressive, powerful looking car.

If Australia does get the Evo VII - it would be like an unexpected shock..
Like: "whats this?, doesnt even look agressive". and the Evo VII doesnt.

The Evo VI has the body styling and it just looks like a damn beast!

Everyone has their own opinoins but I dont think the EVO VII is that bad from the old one. The VI looks is just pretty much outdated to me. I rather have the VII since it is a better car and I personaly like the VII for its clean looks. Kind of tired looking at that same body for years.
And I rather be driving a newer version of the EVOLUTIONS. :P

I have several EVO VII magazines from japan and I see alot of new one fixed up and it looks really nice. Give it some time and more people will start to like the VII. You just have to see one fixed up compared to a VI. The VI just dont look as good as the VII when both are modified.
I been in one and the interior is better and also has more space.
Thats just my opininion :smoker:
Trust me if you had a VI and a VII pulls up next to you , you be hurtin bad deep down. Even if you think how nice the VI looks, thew VII is the newer model! And not just that but you know that person could of gotten the VI but rather be in a newer VII. heheheheeh
But either way both cars are nice.
Can you say OLD Skool?

meh...

While I like the look of the VII personally, I wouldn't really care anyways. It doesn't matter if your car looks like it performs, rather that it DOES perform. If you want a car that looks fast go buy a honda and put a peanut can exhaust and a fin on it. Oh, and don't forget the V-TEC sticker for that extra 2 HP

Hey i just realized the EVO VII doesnt have Big Fog Lights.. it makes it more sporty... but i like the EVO VII better more sleek and cleaner. and it matches how a car looks like in the 21st century

Hehe

Well, I'll even take a Evo 1. Can't be picky if you don't have a car :P

Better give some backgroud before you call me an enthusiast.

I'm 18, fresh out of HS, going to art school next year, etc. My dad, who has always kept me with a deep interest in driving has been training me. He's one of the best drivers I know, and I say that with alot of experience actually. If you can picture me learning how to drift in a '89 Plymouth Voyager (aka Dodge Caravan aka 4 other frickin cars) minyvan. It's a piece, has about 160k on it, but it accelerates nicely, and we haven't had to put much into it.

My fathers recently came into some money, and after paying all our debts off (great feeling), he's gonna put some down on either a 2001 Deville or Towncar. I'm just sitting on my permit right now, so he won't let me anywhere near it til i take the few hours to go get my liscense. At this point I can proudly say I'm a much more capable driver than most of the kids arround here, especially for a sub-middle class kid that didn't go to driving school

So anyway's, I've been saving up a pot for a few years, and a couple month's ago I decided on the Lancer. I'm currently at arround 26K, and by 2003 I should have enough, maybe a little bit extra.

Since that damn van is pry gonna fall apart on me, and we want to dump it before noevember's registration anyways, I'm thinking on putting a few grand into some little piece of shit until I get my lancer. Figure it as something to tweak my skills on without having to worry too much about dents and scratches.

So, any suggestions? Take note that I'm 6'5", so I won't fit into anything. Oh and if you say Honda, I'll, I'll, buy C-Tech, Type-P, and NOX decals to put all over it. Oh, and some Lexas emblems.

Aaanyways, suggestions would be appreciated, and now you know me a little better.

Ok, you asked for it (suggestions).

Please learn how to drive properly first, before you get a big HP car.

I hope I don't offence anyone in the states with this suggestion, but from looking at the Subaruclub BBS I allmost conclude that 50% of the WRX sold in the country are beeing damaged within the first 2,000 miles. Several are written-off (totalled).

Well yeah, that's why I'm getting some small thing to knock the crap out of while learning to drive... "properly"

A friend recomended a 1G Eclipse or Talon, say 91 or 92 since the 2G's got the exploding engines :P

Any other cars (doesn't have to be mitsui of course, that's just what my friend recomended)?

Does anyone know how many evo7s are in Malaysia - or an estimate? I just got one 2 weeks ago but have not seen one on the road - even after registering 1500kms of satisfying time. Also, can anyone recommend a suspension set-up that allows better low-speed ride while retaining road-handing prowess?

Get yourself a MkIII supra...i had one and loved it. Drove it to 198,000 miles. Get cheap parts from jaymarks toyota and right when ya buy it change the headgasket if it even seems like it might be going and she will run for another 100k miles. $2k or less for the car and $1k to fix her uip and i guarantee you will have a car with some personality that you will love. Just my 2 cents and i would definitely love to have another girl that ran like her.

Cheers,
Al
