'95 Continental Rough cold start

Out of the blue one day started the car and it idled very rough until warmed up. Repair shop changed plugs, wires, gas filter, etc. Took it to dealer, they said it was either bad valve or timing belt had slipped. They want 2800.00 to fix. I don't understand how it could be a valve or timing belt when car runs perfectly when warmed up. Also 'check engine' light stays on. I think it's a vacumn problem but what do I know. Anyone had a similar experience? '95 Continental.

Hi msmith8518

We need to know the OBDii codes stored with the CEL light.
Autozone, Kragen, and some others will connect a scanner and read your CEL codes for free, I really think they enjoy it

You can also get your own scanner for $30/$50 at some places. No need for the fancy ones (like the one I have) since the cheap ones do the same things.

Harbor Freight has one for around $30.

I would imagine one of the most common probs would be the electronic choke...Maybe give that a look?
