Tranny question

Just had an AX4N floor shift transmission installed in my 1997 Conti. Now I am hearing a growl in lower gears and cant isolate the noise. Could it be Torque Converter noise or Transmission noise??? I shift to Neutral and the engine is a sweet motor sound - no growl. I am puzzled about this as the Transmission is Ford Rebuilt and should be as good as the original. Any thoughts on this?
