have you ever

This is simply a yes/no answer....have you ever experienced your lumina jerking, hesitating, or doing a 'fishbite' while cruising on the highway? If you answer 'yes' please respond with the year, engine, mileage, solution, etc

Re: have you ever

Yeah....don't have a code tester but thought it was bad gas. Very intermittant. Sometimes shows up as a fast idle at stop lites too. Mine is a 96 with the 3.4. Has an honest 164,000

Dealing with the TPS issue right now

slight jerking hesitation while accelerating, usually with very light throttle pressure. After changing injectors and the TPS I took it in to get fixed - Bad crank sensor

hard bucking - bad TPS

90 Euro 3.1
now has 121,000 miles

Re: have you ever

yeah, 2001 lumina 3.1. 90,000 miles roughly now with the origional plugs. Once in a while she gets a rough idle or surges on light acceleration, especially when cold. No dtc's are ever set though. I just think its a plug and wire issue, so i not to worried about it. Been doing it for a long time. Also could be a tps issue. Mine seems to be unresponsive when slightly accelerating in overdrive cruising at about 55 to 60mph. The pedal travels quite far before the rpm's increase and the car accelerates. Most of the time it moves a couple inches and then the car kicks out of overdrive. then it responds much better. I'm thinking its probably a tps issue or also possably a sticking TCC solonoid. If anyone could tell me where the TCC is located and how labor intensive it is to replace, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: have you ever

'96, 191 V-6, 4T60E, shudders at 58-60 MPH due to TCC lockup "indecision" at low throttle angle/near coast. A thorough cleaning of the TB, IAC, and ascertaining that the throttle was fully closed at start and TPS was at zero on startup seemed to resolve it.
