Nfs: Carbon

I played NFS:C at the Digital Life Convention at the JJC in NYC (along with Resistance: Fall of Man and some basketball game, for PS3!). Sad to say its more like NFS:U 1 & 2 rather than NFS games like NFS:HP2. They tried to integrate some of the elements of NFS:U into NFS:MW, actually its almost the same thing as NFS:MW, but you race at night, the cars drift even when you don't want them to, and you get to tune the car's performance, not just looks. While there are many interesting cars ( I loved the Audi R8) the wheels looked like they were off an episode of "Pimp My Ride." They had a Gallardo with 22's I think, or something close to that size. Despite many new features, the feeling is not very realistic, the cars were very hard to control. And when the guy kept telling me I "should be drifiting around corners rather than hitting the apex," I realized I probably would not be buying another NFS game ever again, put down the controller and went to the Halo tournaments. Its sad to see EA taking NFS in that direction, but I guess it gives other games a chance to shine.

Re: Nfs: Carbon

I played the demo that's up on the 360 marketplace and almost shut it down immediately. I thought it played like shit, but then again, it could have been an early demo.

Yea...like I said, the game feels very unrealistic. At least NFS:MW felt like a decent game and all the cars had different feedback. I doubt it was like that becasue it's an early demo, the game is about to be released in a few days, am I correct (OCT 31)?

Re: Nfs: Carbon

I'm currently playing the game on my PS2. I think it's the best NFS game there is (besides Hot Pursuit and Porsche Unleashed). Although the game is quite repeatitive, it is also quite easy. Five hours got me around 50%. The opponents can be harder, but what can you expect from a NFS arcade game. I'd say rent the game for kicks, but not buy it.

Re: Nfs: Carbon

My friend beat the game on tuners and I raced a lot for him. The drift mode was the weirdest part about the game for me, it's so cartoony it's radical. I liked the wingmen, some didn't, meh.

My favorite car is the Z06 (undoubtedly) BUT it handles terribly, a base corvette handles better than this so WTF did EA do now?? Is it a muscle car as opposed to an exotic? Yes BUT it, the viper and maybe ford gt are all muscle and the best handlers of any muscle car, but NO EA wants every muscle's handling to suck!! I'll still play it.

Re: Nfs: Carbon

I bought the game and I enjoyed playing it but it was FAAAR to easy. I was never once throughout the entire game busted. Rarely lost a race except for the very last boss race when you have 4 races and the last one is the canyon run with the R8. For some reason I could not beat that last race......but I finally did.

Re: Nfs: Carbon

Hey does anyone actually believe the Lemans is the fastest car in the game? First of all, it only has 460hp but they make it out to be like a veyron killer. I could name faster cars in the game.

Re: Nfs: Carbon

I bought the Collector's Edition recently, i find that this is a good game. i like it better than MW, simply cuz they brought back drifting, which i am a big fan of. I'm glad that the Drags are gone..i was never any good at that,LOL. I'm 91% through the Career Mode, and its been challenging, but fun.

Re: Nfs: Carbon

Im at 94% of career and my 360 broke.......... Big bumer. But the game really rocks I prefered MW only because it was larger. If I could have MW with drifting it would be the best car game of all time.
