Car insurance rates

I'm so pissed off. I got my renewal notice from state farm insurance today and for some odd reason they decided to hike my insurance rates up 27 percent. No, I have not been in any accidents or had any speeding tickets. Yes, I am 18 or older. So instead of paying like 680 for a 6 month term like I was before, I am now gonna be paying over a grand. What the hell is up with this bullshit!?!?!?!? It's even 15 percent higher than when I first had my license and my car was brand new!!

Are you not sure how old you are?:hehehe: j/k

yeah man, your getting ripped off. I'm paying about $1,300 every 6 months as the primary driver and I have several speeding tickets still on my record. You might want to check around and see what other deals you can find.

Don't complain I've been paying $1,200 every six months since I was 16 (I'm only 17 now), and I've got no tickets and no accidents. I paid $1,200 every six months when I had my Delorean, and now that I don't have the Delorean, I pay the same amount for a CRX! WTF, I pay the same amount for a rare sports car, and an econobox Honda CRX, wtf is up with that?

Thats for only one vehicle though, the nova is non opted right now.

for a lone time it went unnoticed, and all it cost me was an extra $10 a month. but they caught on and decided to DOUBLE my insurance, so i said screw you! and non oppted the Nova. So i cant legally drive it right now.

I think it has to do with the fact that I'm a male. Ahhhh yes, reverse sexism, the great equalizer. Everyone knows those damn broads can't drive, and they cause more accidents driving their volkswagen cabrio at the speed limit than the criminally-negligent billy bob does driving his chevy nova SS dragging from stoplight to stoplight. Why this load of crap about how males are more dangerous drivers than female drivers continues, I don't know. The fact is, the reason females seem to wreck their cars are because of being a stupid, idiotic driver, while males seem to wreck their cars because of pushing themselves too far over the limit, the former of which occours more often than the latter.

That's what I WAS paying. That is actually pretty good considering you drive a relatively new hot rod. I'm paying about 400 bucks more than that and I just drive a family sedan Who is your insurance carrier?

Im with Kentucky Farm Bureau. My insurance actually dropped $300 every 6 months when I switched from my previous 1995 mustang v6 to my cobra. Supposedly they base rates on stats, more v6 mustangs in wrecks because of the age group driving them. Then with the cobra, that has an average age of drivers being 40-50 .

Ah, thank god for government monopoly insurance prices... Here in beautiful British Columbia, I would have pay $1400 a year with collision and comprehensive... That's Canadian too, so it would work out to something like $900 US

Damn, that is what I was paying when I was 17 with a 1985 Jeep Wagoneer. I was only paying about $100 per month on the LeBaron.
