Smile Eclipse Gst-

I just bought a stock Eclipse gst, its blowing white smoke out of the exhaust. It smells like oil, but the turbo isnt blown and the headgaskets seem fine. Does anyone know what it could be? I believe it might be a seal inside the turbo and i might just need to rebuild my turbo. Let me know. Thanks.

Re: Eclipse Gst-

I can't think of anything that results in white smoke other than burning coolant (headgasket) and a blown turbo. It is a lot of smoke or just a little?

Its only alot of smoke when the car is warming up, once its warm it stops. Theres not oil in the turbo only in the intake. It's very strange.

Re: Eclipse Gst-

Is it cold out? If its cold (what, like 40 degrees or less?), you will get a little bit of white exhaust on startup/warm up but is not necessarily coolant. I wouldnt worry about it.
