In the middle of installing Calmini 3" Lift

It hasnt been going too far yet, we got caught up a bit yesterday removing one of the shocks because the nut was a little stripped. Today we finally got it out and finished up the rear, it looks awesome now. We got started on the front end later in the afternoon and its just been a total bitch. The cotter pins were tiny and pushed in too far to grab a hold of them. Now were stuck on getting the pin pushed out of the upper control arm. We tried a few things but I ended up dropping it off at the shop and hopefully they can take care of it tommorow.

I'll have some pics once everythings finished, hopefully it wont take much longer!

Re: In the middle of installing Calmini 3" Lift

Took the control arms to 3 different shops and none of them were able to press out the fulcrum pin. Yesterday we burned the bushings and cut the old control arms to get the pin.

Now my only concern is if the steel sleeve that seperates the pin from the rubber bushing has to be free. It has fused onto the fulcrum pin and wont rotate at all.

Not sure if I can just reuse that sleeve or if I have to try to remove it and use the new sleeves that came with the poly bushings.

Becareful about cutting anything off your rodeo. The calmini control arms might not fit and you could be SOL on it. I took my Calmini Kit to a 4x4 shop and they couldn't get the control arms to fit, I called calmini, They said the welds must have "walked" during production and sent me new control arms. It still did not fit, so I gave up and left my stock ones on there.

In what way did they not fit onto your rodeo? Like what part of them was out of wack?

Re: In the middle of installing Calmini 3" Lift

The control arms were too narrow when compared to the stock arms. I am talking about the two hoops that the bushing go through. I was short about 1/2". Others have had to use washers to fill on the gap, but I didn't want to do that, so I'll just did without them. The heard the new arms were not any different from the stock A-arms. It wasn't stronger and didn't correct camber angle, It just looked better, so it wasn't a big deal for me not to have them on.
