swap question

I finally got my hands on a b16 head (I got the block and head for $250 and block is for sale) I am currently running a b20 off of a obd-0 91 integra ecu. Is it true that i can use the 91 integra dizzy for my b16 head?? if not which on should i use? Because Id rather use the one i have on my b20 due to that i just bought it new like 2 months ago. i am open to any suggestions that u guys might have when it comes to my b20 vtec conversion... thanks for the help!!

Re: swap question

He is asking if he can use his obd-0 Teg Dizzy, not the B20...atleast that is what I think he is meaning. I believe you can, but not positive.

Re: swap question

i dont think so. the bolt pattern for the distributor should get in the way of the vtec solenoid. i think. it's been a while. unless it's agsr dizzy. or you modify it, without breaking it.

Re: swap question

it's a non-vtec distributor, the vtec solenoid is in the way and you won't be able to use it unless you do some cutting (not recommended). you will need a b-series obd0 VTEC dizzy if you want to stay obd-0 and go vtec, you will also need a b-series VTEC ecu.
let me know if you need one or the other i have both for sale.

Re: swap question

Alright, thanks for correcting that. i didn't know for sure, haven't dealt with the B series much yet, been obsessed with the D series right now.

Re: swap question

the (mounting holes?) that hold the dizzy on are different between vtec and non vtec b-series because the solenoid gets in the way.

For a no-sweat affair, you want the jdm 89-91 B16a distributor. Or, you can just run the 90-91 OBD0 integra distributor and cut off the front mounting tab. The OBD0 B16a and OBD0 B18a distributor are the same exact distributor, minus the mounting tab locations.
I'm using a 90 integra distributor w/ the front leg cut off on my lsvtec in my 88 crx. No leaks. No problems.

In stock form, they're basically the same. But, if you ever plan on being able to reprogram your ecu, go with the PR3. There's too many headaches associated with the PW0 that makes it a little more difficult to chip and tune.
