Different MAP sensors...?
Hey all. I just discovered something interesting! My MAP sensor that is in my car currently, has the part number 18590-60E00. I did some research, and that number is for 1989-1994 Suzukis. I just got a 18590-60B00 from Ebay, and I hooked that up to my car and it runs a whole lot better. Also, I did some research, and the 60B00 is for 1989-1994 Geos.
According to that information, shouldn't my 92 Geo Metro have the 60B00 instead of the 60E00? Just curious. It does run better and idle better with the 60B00, so I'm assuming somewhere along the line the previous owner replaced the MAP sensor with a used one, but with the wrong map sensor? Anyway, if any of you could tell me what part number is on the top of your MAP sensor in a Geo Metro between 89-94, let me know ok? Anyway, I thought this was interesting. ![]() Dan |

Re: Different MAP sensors...?
I may be wrong, but they are all the same 89-95, but there are a couple of different shapes/brackets thru those years. I get them every time I go to the yard. It's one of the first things people take from a junker. The aftermarket new price is something like $200. I have about 6 of them now.

Re: Different MAP sensors...?
Heh, try $264.99 at PartsAmerica.com. They're really expensive. I'm gonna be going more to junk yards and stuff to look for those suckers since they're so expensive. If you're right and they're all basically the same, that makes sense too. But why would they have different part numbers?
My car did have 158,000 miles on it, and the other sensor I got had low miles, like under 80k, so that's probably why it works better than the original one I had. |

Re: Different MAP sensors...?
The bracket or size may differ, thus different part #. The actaul inner workings and what they measure and put out whould be the same from thru those years. Checking rock auto, the replacement ac delco units use the same part # 89-94.

Re: Different MAP sensors...?
Okay that makes sense. I was curious, but after looking at rockauto, yeah, all Suzukis and Geos use the same MAP sensor numbers. Makes sense that the B and the E are the same other than the brackets they use. Thanks for clearing that up.
