98' Intake Gasket

Hey,

Im new here but I have looked a bit and wasn't sure If I had over looked it, but does anyone have a how-to on a 98' Blazer 4.3L Intake Gasket replacement? Mine is leaking a bit and cause's my lifters to knock sometimes, think its time to change her out. Is it a pretty simple and straight forward process? Thanks for any help provided, I have the trusty hayes book, but im looking at all aspects before I tackle it... The leak isn't too alful bad, doesn't get into the oil and from what I can tell most of it just comes out of the front of the intake. Whats weird is it really only leaks in city driving, I can drive it 200+ miles on a trip and it won't leak a drop, weird...

Thanks In Advance,

Justin

check to see, your truck my get fixed for free due to a class action lawsuit against gmc for shotty intake manifold gaskets. If you do it yourself, it really isn`t that hard of a project can be done in a weekend. Just make sure U lable whatever u take off to avoid confusion on reassembly.

In the Technical/How to section, there is a post called How to change your lower intake manifold gaskets and valve cover gaskets. That has what you need.

If your lifters are making noise, then coolant is leaking into the oil. Get it fixed as soon as possible. It is pretty much straight forward, just like the how-to describes, but one thing to remember is to properly torque the intake down when re-installing. This is critical.

When you say making noise would It sound like a rapid clicking sound in conjunction with the pistons? If so I may be upgrading that soon as well.
