VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor
A little background.
1994 Honda Passport 3.2L V6 Auto The speedo quit working about a week ago. Today the Check Engine Light comes on. I ran the codes and got 24 Vehicle Speed Sensor - No input signal. Tested it Per Haynes Manual and its bad. I don't have 199.99 for a new one. So I'll be going to a junkyard to get one. Now my question. Should i be able to get this part off any 4X4 Isuzu Rodeo, Honda Passport 2.3L, 3.1L or 3.2L Pre 1996? Bascily any OBD-I vehicle? Any advice would be appreated.. I'm also going to need a power steering pump. Thanks Last edited by D4rk3y35; 11-02-2006 at 06:49 PM. |

Re: VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor
most common thing on these vss issues
worn speedo pinion gear remove the speed sensor look at the plastic gear there may be worn teeth on the gear if so you can rep[lace just the gear |

Re: VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor
There are two types of senders, one has a lead about 5" long with a plug on the end
and the other has no lead. The plugs are different. Be gentle when removing the plug from another vehicle, the sensor likes to break just under the wire plug... |

Re: VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor
what is the difference between a 2wd and 4wd speed sensor. Will the 2wd work on the 4wd. This is on a 1996 passport
