Dim brake light
I have a 94 Base. My driver side tail light is very dim. So dim that even at night a couple of my friends have told me it's not on at all. I have no idea how to even locate the bulb. Is it behind that metal panel when you take off the reverse light cover? Second, it sounds like a grounding problem to me. I have no idea how the tail lights are grounded weather it's on the socket or on the chassis somewhere.

Re: Dim brake light
your tail lights function on two different levels: when you turn your headlights on, the tail lights come on at low intensity. when you press the brake pedal, light intensity increases. if the light intensity is not increasing (doesn't get brighter) when brake is pressed, then you just need to get a new bulb.
simply remove the plastic trim in the trunk. then you should be able to reach in and twist the bulb holder, then pull it out. however, i haven't done it in a while, so i can't remember if you have to remove the tail light housing or not. if you do, its just 4 10mm nuts.
