Here is an interesting question. What would it take to modify a base 350Z to make 500+WHP, do 0-60 in 3.5 sec., and the 1/4 mile in 10.5 sec.?
How easy are 350Z mods going to be compared to Skyline GTR mods? When the new R35 GTR comes out it will most likely be loosly based on the 350Z platform. Any thoughts on the subject? |

Well your questions are still kinda blury since alot of people dont have the 350z models, so there are a small portion of performance parts avalible for US 350z models. Nismo has tons of parts for the car, but good luck getting parts from nismo. Base does not come with LSD and alot of other features are left out as suppose to the track model. I would get the enthusiast model if your thinking of getting the new Z and are low on funds. Im sure no one has gotten their 350z up to 500hp..since its such a new car..and your basicly killing the warrenty if you do alot of mods, plus thats just stupid. The 350Z already beats the 300zx Twin turbo models on the quarter, it would be ashame to not experiance the stock power of a 290hp normaly aspirated engine. If a aftermarket parts company does come out with a bolt on turbo system for the Z, you have to watch your engine very very carfully. Since the vq35de is a aluminum block..cast iron blocks to me are way more better since you can run really high boost without engine reenforcment..example the rb26dett.
As far as the R35 GTR (not the V35 Skyline) does anyone know what engine is gona be used on that car? since Nissan has already stated that the new skylines will not use the rb series engine anymore. I really hope they come true too nissans turbo charged systems..they are bad ass. |

The new GTR's will come in a V6 and V8 model. the car is also very ugly. Nissian ruined my favorite car.

Yup,
The R34 is really nice. I also like the R33 V spec. I suppose we will have to wait for the 350Z to be out for a while to see what modifications are going to be made. :o |

Funny how the RX8 in the Geneva Auto Show photos looks like a Honda S2000, especially from the back. Seems like everyone is copying the S2000 design. The '03 Viper also looks a lot like the S2000.
Oh well. The more new cars I see, the more I like the older models. This is a good thing as it saves me money. |

Anything is possible if you got the money and a very good performance shop. It shouldn't be any more difficult to modify than any other car.:sun:
