Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-tune

Hey,

because the Audi 90 is almost finished I searched a new project.
I picked up this one:

Kit is made by Aoshima btw.

What's in the box?

And a dryfit:

As you can see the rearbumper doesn't fit right to the body.

Kris.

I have a similar model, but that came out a disaster. I'm planning to get another Aoshima one soon.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-tune

All the bodyparts are glued together and the rearbump is modified to fit on the body.

And I primered it.

Very strange but on the last picture you can see on the hood there's a spot. In real you can't see this spot Not important btw because it will have a couple of mica silver coats one of these days.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-tune

Despite the rear bumper mis-fit, this kit looks better than the Tamiya one which makes me a bit disappointed . This build looks good so far and can't wait to see the coats of paint on it.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-tune

Let me warn you before u build it up... The bottom chassic has problems... the wheels dont turn out right when its fixed... I can confirm this as my top secret skyline had this problem and i had to make adjustments to the chassic to fix it. And a friend of mine had the same exact problem when he fixed his C-west skyline , which uses the same chassic. Good luck.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-tune

Thanx I will keep that in my mind (as far as possible )

Today I painted the body and the rearwing with 4 lays of TS-76 Mica Silver
The paintjob is very smooth! I''ll clearcoat the body when the decals are placed.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-tune

for some reason i noticed that i like this kit more than the Tamiya one. Dont raly no y but the way its made looks meaner because it looks abit more square, as in the rims look nicer than the Tamiya one and the bodykit looks like it sits better. Just my opinion and also how u get the Nismo hood decal etc...

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-tune

Yesterday and today I added all the decals.
I never made an Aoshima kit and never worked with these decals but they're really nice. With some patient and a lot of Microscal Sol I finished it a couple of hours ago.

For the rear spoiler and frontbumperlip I used Scale Auto Style carbonfiber decals. Looks much better than only painting it black

Hope you like it!

Now it's ready to receive some lays of TS-13 Clear.

Kris.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-tune

I agree with the comments above this kit looks so much better than the Tamiya version!
I love the standard Tamiya Skyline but as a Z tune version it didn't look as mean as it should!
This one does! Superb, keep it up. Make sure it sits right when you've finished it!

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-tune

Today it was time to clear coat the body.

So I sprayed 4 lays of TS-13 on it.

I think it's smooth enough. Only wax the body after it is dry enough.
