Strut bar on Euro Spec P11 GT

Hey does anyone know if the P11 GT came stock with a front Strut Bar???

Yes - the GT came with a front and rear strut brace as standard. Hell even my SRi (and I believe other 2.0i models) did...

Is yours missing or something then? Or is it there and were you just wondering if it was an optional extra that the previous owner had fitted?

I was wondering wether it was an optional xtra previous owner had fitted...cause a few people who have looked at my engine bay lately were surprised I had a strut bar as Stock......
ps do you anyone who does Chroming as I'm thinking of having it done on the Strut bar.....

It suprised me at first too when I found that my SRi had a front and rear strut brace as standard. A nice suprise mind you

As for chroming the strut brace, I haven't a clue as to who would do such a thing. Maybe a flick through the Yellow Pages to find a company that does chroming etc would help?

Only the SRi and GT came with the strut bar as standard....... Not sure about the Si, I know for sure the SE 2.0 doesn't have one.

Anth......... wheres the rear strut bar?????? mine hasnt got one?????? i know the Almera GTi has the rear one cos you can see it in the boot, but mines not on the top of the suspension struts or it would be in the way of the split fold rear seats.

Well there is definately one on mine.... maybe it is only on the 4 door models? I'll whip out my digital camera tonight and take a few pictures for you...

And to answer Neil's point - the Si (and other 1.6 models) definately do not come with a strut brace as standard.

Right - I've taken a couple of pictures of the rear strut brace.

Here is the brace itself, which is located immediately behind the rear seats at floor level (possibly underneath the boot floor cover on some cars):

So as you can see, there is definately a rear strut brace on my car, which as far as I know is standard. Are you sure that you don't have one on your GT? Does you SRi have one Neil?

Anthony can u take a pic with less zoom so i can see where im supposed to look? There will be one on the hatch but i dont think there is a easy way to see it/get at it.
