265/75 R16 on stock wheels?
Does anyone know is this size tire will fit on the stock 2000 16" rodeo wheel? Is it a 16x7 or 16x8?

Re: 265/75 R16 on stock wheels?
It will fit on the wheel for sure - if you have steel wheels, they're probably the 16x6, alloy is 16x7 or 16x7.5.
Isuzu did not put on any OEM wheels that were 16x8. I ran this size on the OEM steel 16x6 wheels for almost a year - they'll fit, but I do not recommend for healthy tire life to do it long-term - too skinny. I ended up getting some 16x8 wheels and the tires are wearing so much more evenly now. The tire will fit fine on the 16x7 wheel without issue. However, what I don't know, is if whether or not the 265/75 will fit on your truck without issue - running mine on a '97 Rodeo with a different body-style.

Re: 265/75 R16 on stock wheels?
I got my calmini lift kit in the mail finally and their website says that these tires fit without any problems. Maybe if it warms up next weekend I can install the kit, otherwise it can collect dust until the spring.
If I did mount these tires on the stock wheels, if I kept them rotated often would it help much with the wearing problem?

Re: 265/75 R16 on stock wheels?
Not if they're 16x6 steel wheels, it won't matter how much you rotate them, balance them, etc. what ends up happening is they will crown and you'll wear out the middle of the tread much faster then if you had slightly wider wheels.
I'm not saying you can't do it though - if you have 16x6 wheels and you are really wanting this size tire, then go ahead, I ran around on 265/75's with 16x6 wheels for over a year without any normal highway/street driving issues. I changed out the wheels, however at the end of the 1st year, because I quickly learned that I was going to have to replace the tires by the end of the 2nd year if I kept the skinny wheels because they were starting to wear so unevenly they were having balancing issues, cupping, etc and I didn't want to have to pay another $6-700 dollars within a 2yr time frame. If you get the P265/75 tires they may react differently however, I'm running LT265/75 tires in the 8-ply version, which are $140/tire and I'm hoping they last at least 4-5yrs.

Re: 265/75 R16 on stock wheels?
Forgot to add, if you have the LSE model, you probably have the alloy wheels which are 16x7 or so, and you won't have any issue with that size wheel.
In fact, I myself am getting ready to put LT265/75 16's on a set of 16x7 wheels on my newly bought 2004 Tacoma at Discount this morning. Post a pic of your wheel and I'll tell you what size you have.

Re: 265/75 R16 on stock wheels?
Nice thanks for the info, I didnt really want to have to spend extra money on a new set of wheels. Think the 265 will fit under the truck where my stock sized spare tire goes?

Re: 265/75 R16 on stock wheels?
Ok, you have the alloy - 16x7 wheel (IIRC), you should be fine mounting the 265/75's on there for long-term. I wouldn't buy new wheels if mine had been that nice.
As for mounting that size as a spare underneith, I have absolutely no idea - I have the old style that mounted to the tailgate. But, I'm guessing it *should* be ok as long as you don't have a receiver hitch, if you do, you may be *sol* in that area. Do some search on 4x4wire.com in the Isuzu forums - there's a lot more people over there who upgraded their tire sizes. I think there's only two or three of us here who have opted to go bigger, but we all have the 95-97 years. But again, your wheels should be fine without any issues. Post a pic when you get the new shoes. What type/brand tire are you getting??

Re: 265/75 R16 on stock wheels?
With Ramblin's advice, I put on 265/75/16's on my stock Passport/Rodeo. I have the stock snowflake 16x7.5 wheels and there is no cupping at all. There was some very minor rubbing in the front fenders, but that was due to the front bumper being all jacked up from many accidents. It now fits without any rubbing at all once I moved the front bumper a bit forward on the mounts.
I can't say enough good things about these Yokohama Geolander AT+II's. They are simply amazing for an AT tire. I could hardly do any doughnuts today in the parking lot becuase of all the traction
