No idea what your talking about. but. Are you trying to find proof that weight reduction isn't worth it?

It takes a lot of weight reduction for just a small gain. Something like 100 pounds will drop your time by 0.1 sec or something like that.

Really in my opinion weight reduction isn't worth it in a street car or daily driver because inorder to see any real gains you'll have to gut the interior, take out the spare tire/jack, remove the entire A/C system, No stereo at all, Light weight rims, carbon fiber body panels, remove bumper supports, light weight exhaust system. And all this might get you 300-400 pounds of weight reduction.

Weight reduction is really only good for track cars.

Each step you take makes a little difference. Five little differences = one big difference. As one mods a car for better performance, adding five horses here, and ten horses there, weight reduction can be considered worth it in certain instances.

If you dont think a couple two or three hundred pounds makes a difference, load your car full of passengers and go drive around. You will notice a difference not only in acceleration, but it changes how it stops, and steers also.

Consider this, instead of stripping down a car for weight, maybe its better to switch the entire model or year of car. For example, third gen firebirds and camaros are 500 pounds lighter than second gens, and 200 lbs lighter than the fourth gens.

Ive removed some weight on mine and i noticed a little difference, and
heres how it went,
-AC/heater hardware including any dash or firewall parts. (-80 lbs)
-Spare and jack (prolly - 15 lbs)
-extra padding (-5 lbs MAYBE)
-computer, and its wiring (-5 lbs MAYBE)
-Lighter wheels (-20 LBS)
-replaced stock exhaust with headers, short pipes &cherry bombs (-40 lbs on exhaust)
- t-tops & back glass can be removed (around -80 pounds i guess.)

This is an estimate, but i believe ive lost around 160lbs and if im really trying i can pull the back glass and t-tops out and bring it to 230-245 pounds. Considering my car original weighed 3200 pounds, i can predict its weight is around 3000 lbs. This translates to around 400 lbs lighter than 4th gens, and 700 lbs lighter than second gens.

Yeah its completely worth it. 700 pounds = better fuel economy, better steering and brakes, and about a half a second lower 1/4, wich is a long time.

Its not a track car, its soon to be my daily driver again. Thats doesnt mean I cant take it to the track and hold my head up high. If I get lined up next to a car with the same power as mine and my car weighs 500 pounds less, you can guess what will happen. Once the 400/400 is in it, i should be able to reach my goal and pump out consistent low 13's on a 1/4 mile track, and still run on 87 octane, and get 17 mpg avg.

i have a 87 firebird, lighter rims, manual steering, no ac anything or heater anything, even all the ducting,vents,controls, and everything is gone, no windsheild washer stuff, no cruise control anything, nothing that has to do with emissions in any way, all the insulation was taken out and replaced with sound deadening mat which is better and a little lighter, no spare or anything like that, no power antenna deal on it, for some reason no rear swaybar.....dunno, i didnt do that...., but anyways no ecm or wiring, went carbed, those plastic racing bucket seat jegs sells with the cooshy covers, all my motor turns is a waterpump and alternator. its pretty gutted. all the interior is there and very nice might i add, im 18 and drive it everyday. and once i put my 400 sbc and th350 back in it ill have a killer 450 hp 500 ft/lb car that is street driven every day. sadly i only get like 10 mpg but hell, you gotta do what you want. i wouldnt suggest stripping out the interior to nothing cause then its loud and gay and un enjoyable. but hey, every bit helps i guess

Weight reduction does work and it has proven to be a very valuable resource for many seeking lower ET's.
