Re: Recall on seat belt latch?

The recall that i remember on the seatbelt latch only consisted of a dealer installed silver retainer clip kit that supposedly fixed the problem.
the belts and such were not replaced - only repaired.

You should contact a GM dealer and see if the kit can still be installed (or if it is still even available) at no cost since yours was not fixed under the original recall. Im not sure how far back the recall is retroactive since 20 years have passed since this recall was placed.

The silver clip looked like crap, but i guess if it saved a few lives...........................

Re: Recall on seat belt latch?

You'd probably be better off trying to find a suitable upgrade receiver. But I know the stock replacements are availble on line.

its available, i heard they will still fix it, but modern day muscle sells the gm NOS kit to fix it and it very easy to install
http://moderndaymuscle.com/inc/sdetail/688, ive ordered one, its just easier than screwing around with a dealership for that price
