Frozen Air Compressor
I recently changed the starter on My 1999 Chevy Lumina LTZ. During the process I discovered the reason the starter died was the fact that the Air compressor froze up, and resulted in the the starter failing.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to bypass the aircompressor. I have done this before on another vehicle, but I just can't seem to get the routing of the belt down so it turns the alternator, Power steering, and water pump. If anyone has done this please let me know how you did it Thanks in advance 20

seems i recall an article on http://60degreev6.com about how this is done. It was a while ago, but may want to ping around on this website. Oh, wait you have a 3.8, damnit. could try those forums anywyas.

If you don't care if the A/C works or not, I've bought good salvage yard compressors for $30 (pull it yourself yards) or so, just mount another one up.

Thanks a lot. I am looking for a bypass kit for now. But I just might have the whole thing changed. I really am glad I found this place you guys are a wealth of info for these cars.
