98GCL-How to remove left rear trim panel?

I have to get to the connection for the trailer wiring harness so I can install trailer lights on my 98 Laredo. I've read about where to find it on this forum, but, after removing all likely screws & bolts, the panel is still pretty securely in place.
Are there plastic buttons inside the panel? I really don't want to mess up the fasteners and then have to live with rattles or a broken panel.
Thanks for your help!

Re: 98GCL-How to remove left rear trim panel?

Did the same thing with my 99, remove cargo net screw, screw holding the foot panel at the bottom, then just pull, there are little snaps inside the panel, same as a door panel. It will just snap back in place........

Re: 98GCL-How to remove left rear trim panel?

Thanks, Bluegoat.
My 98 turned out to be just a little more involved.
Had to remove the left rear upper corner panel (surrounding the hydraulic lift).
Also had to remove left rear upper seatbelt bolt to remove upper panel between backseat and cargo area to get at one hidden screw there. (grr)
BTW, the trailer harness kit I got from NAPA (#755/1583)for $83.99 went in very nicely, except for the pain of getting the hot wire through the firewall to connect directly to the battery. I finally decided to pull it through the rubber grommet on the firewall through which the hood release runs. Directions were understandable and got me through it. The harness/converter works well - trailer lights are bright on all functions.
Thanks again.
