NZ Skyliners......(please read)

Hi, I am looking into buying a Skyline and I spotted this in the local motoring mailer last night (on a yard):

1994 Nissan Skyline GTS-T
Auto, 51,000kms guaranteed, stunning example, electrics, climate air, p/steer, c/lock, alloys, rear spoiler. AA appraised.

$12,990.

Does this sound like a good deal? I am going to go and have a look at it tomorrow....anything I should look for. Oh and if I like it I intend to get a mechanical warranty.

Any advice appreciated.

Is it an R32 or R33??

If it's an R32 it's a bit overpriced. Kms are a bit low if it's been in New Zealand for a while. Wonder if they're genuine ones.

Best thing to do would be to get a full check on it by AA or Car Check or someone similar. It's no guarantee, but they may find if anything major is wrong with it.

Sorry, its an R33.....it has already been AA appraised and the Km's are "guaranteed" by the dealer (but I'll still be checking for signs of wear).

Well that seems like a pretty good price then. Series 2s (like mine and Moondog’s) are going for about $22,000 and they are 1996 on, so for a 1994 $12,990 is a pretty good price.

Pic worked fine. Looks to be pretty stock from what I can see, which is good. Less likely to have been thrashed! I've just done a search on autobase for you and here are some others for you to compare it to.

http://www.autobase.co.nz/vehiclesea...m=3.519839E-02

There’s a 1994 sedan there with more kms on the clock and it’s $14,995 so the one you’re looking at sounds like a good deal.

Ah ok. I knew there were 1994 GTRs I just assumed that they would have continued all the models as well. Oh well….. :o

Moss106Gti: $$$$$$ - I cant really afford the extra $$$ for a manual. In fact I can barely afford the car as it is. I like buying from dealers so I can get mechanical warranties - and dealers know how popular skylines are....especially manual ones. Otherwise Id be all over a manual.
