Car starts then dies after about 2 seconds.

We have a '99 Alero with the 3.4L V-6. The car will start and run for about 2 seconds and then it dies. I have read most of the other posts that have this problem but they all say something about the security light. Our security light isn't coming on during this. This also happened a couple of years ago. The last time I tried the re-learn that was posted about by leaving the key in the on position for 10 minutes but that didn't work. We let the car sit overnight while I tried to figure out the problem and went out the next morning and it started fine and has been working fine since. This morning is the first time it has done it since and I really need to get it fixed soon. Any suggestions besides taking it to the "stealership"?

Re: Car starts then dies after about 2 seconds.

Loose or damaged wiring in the ignition system could be one thing to look at.
Check all the lines connected to the intake,
Any vacum leaks on the intake manifold will also cause this.

Make sure all the bolts and nuts on the intake are tight too.
And faulty emssions or engine control systems might be the prob.
