1988 Silverado 3/4 Ton 350 Auto. Odometer and trip doesnt work. How do I fix?
Hi there. I was hoping maybe I could get some help here with my truck.
Its a 1988 Silverado 4x4 single cab long bed automatic 350 engine. The odometer and the (trip)? (the other thing that shows mileage) doesnt work. they just stay on the same numbers. Not sure how long it has been like this it was like this when I got it but I sure would like to get it fixed. Any ideas on how to fix this? I could probably replace the part myself if I knew what to replace. Also, is there any way to tell how many actual miles are on the truck? computer or anything? I would like to set it to the right mileage or atleast get it working again. Thanks for any help.  Edit: I should also mention that the speedometer does work and the fuel meter does work. The oil pressure and the voltmeter also work. Seems most of the gauges do work. Jus the odometer and trip is broken. the shift position indicator (prnd) does not work.
