Question about M3 vs. CLK 500

I have a friend who wants to race my bro with his M3, and swears his Benz is faster in the quarter. Ive read the stats, but he says the M3 with SMG is a slug and the Benz will win.

Any thoughts?

R&T has that CLK500 doing the quarter mile at 13.7 and the E46 M3 at 13.3. I've seen times ranging anywhere from 13.0-13.6 with the M3. I'd say it could be close-ish depending on how well your brother knows SMG and how well your friend knows how to launch an automatic, but the M3 should take it.

this will be moved to non-specific, as there isnt an actual race posted. otherwise, it sounds like how well the lanching and the reacton time goes, as they are both pretty close cars. the m3 should come out on top, but you never know.
