'84 Nighthawk 650

I've been riding one of these around for a while(dad's) and I'm not exactly sure of the specs on it, which bothers me. I know that it was built to compete with bigger bikes, has an advanced engine even by today's standards, and that it handles well for a standard....but that's about it. I don't know it's handling limits(g's), hp/tq numbers, top speed, or even than angle that it breaks traction at...I'm not going to race it or anything, but I would like to know what it can do.

In case anyone recognizes the engine...slightly smaller than 650cc, DOHC, self adjusting cams, shaft drive, 6 speed(overdrive) 1984...

they're nice bikes. I had a 93 750 Hawk and loved it, and my friend currently rides one just like yours. They always have been, and always will be nice bikes in my eyes! Enjoy it!

They were truly one of the best all-purpose bikes ever...dead reliable, quick, easy to maintain, well balanced. Friendly to new riders, and still thrilling to an experienced one.
