Headliner

Anyone have any clue how to take down the headliner in a GA? Im gonna change mine from the light brown color to black suede. I just need some info on how to pull the thing out. Also how do you take the dome light out? I took off the clear cover but cant figure out how to get the whole thing out. Thanks for any help.

Re: Headliner

its a big PITA !

Need to remove the visor mounts #T25 torx, and the coat hooks in back.
The rubber molding around the top by the doors.
If you hav a sun roof thiers a bunch of wires to unplug and the domelight.
And the rubber part on the inside of the sunroof.

To remove the dome light, thiers a couple tabs that snap into a piece thats on top of the headliner. They snap together. But dont be surprised when they wont snap back

No worries, Just need a short small screw(with a good point), screw it up through the bottom into the top black part. Make sure its short or it could go through the roof
Worked great on my SE, stupid thing kept falling off all the time becuase the tabs were broken

Re: Headliner

I did forget, if you hadnt figured out, the front pillar covers need removed, the side and rear also.

Getting it out is a breazze, getting it back without breaking it in half isnt

Re: Headliner

i took the coat hooks off and the pillars already and painted them with black fusion. It just looks a little screwy with the light head liner. How do you take the the rubber molding off? Just pull? does it just press back into its spot when its all said and done? Thanks for the help...the dome light is still pissin me off though. i cant, for the life of me, figure out how to get that thing out...do i need the headliner out first? Or can i take it down before removing the headliner?

I redid all the plastic in the cab in white fusion (except the pillars of course). I think if i get a black headliner it will look sick as hell. Thanks for the help. Ill post some pics when i get more time.

Re: Headliner

Most of the rubber moldings will pull right off , just be carefull not to rip or tare them.

The Domelight(DL) has 4 tabs that just push up and snap into the top piece. The tabs can break(as I stated above). You dont need to remove the headliner to remove the DL, it should just pull down and unsnap. Unplug the wires and its off

If you look closely you should be able to see where its snaped in. I wished I had a pick of it off but I dont

I would like to change the headliner in my SE too. I am going to do a fake leather in black.
