did i get taken for a sucker

ok so i went down to the junk yard today to get a new intake mainfold. so i get down there and it llok the same but there is a diff opening on the other side and the guy told me it will fit and he puts his hand on the bible what do u guys thinks here are the pics

That one looks like he possibly pulled it off of a 2.8L or a 3.1L (from the third gens), kind of looks like an EGR bolts up in the back. I'd take it back and tell the guy to show you what car he pulled it out of. If it's anything other than a 93-95 Firebird or Camaro, then don't take it.

It looks like it would bolt up, but that hole can't just be left there like that. If your intake manifold doesnt have that, even if it does fit, you would have to make a block off plate or something if you wanted to use it. I would just take it back and try and get one that matches exactly to yours as it would be a lot easier to deal with unless you dont mind some fabrication work.

95 firebird,

I bet on your catalytic converter, the tube coming off the side of it is capped off right?

I bet that the difference is that one is made for cars with california emissions, and the other isnt.
