I have a 1999 z28 camaro with just over 100,000 miles and recently it started to miss out at times. Only for about 1 mile right when it was started cold or when you shut it off and restarted warm (like filling up with gas) but not everytime. When it does it the service engine light flashes. I have replaced fuel filter, plugs, and wires and it has not got any better. It seems like it is loseing a whole bank because when it happens you have absolutely no power and your speed drops dramatially. I am rather mechanical but this is baffeling me. Please help!!!!!

Re: 1999 z28 misfire problem!!!!
Yes it does have the LS1 engine. I have replaced the plugs about 15,000 miles ago along with the plug wires and have just repaced the fuel filter and pcv valve hoping this would help. It does not have a rotor or cap to replace.

Sounds like a temp sensor going flakey, my guess the coolant temp sensor. Scan for codes?

Re: 1999 z28 misfire problem!!!!
Yea i scanned the codes, gave like 3 but all for a multiple cyllinder misfire. Did give one history code for oxygen sensor but could that be causing the problem?
