4age???

so I was workin on my celica the other day, my 5sfte build. When my boss came over to my side and said hey man there are a plethra of old toyota parts in a container upstairs. So I decided to go check it out, apparently this shop that I now use. was once used for building up old mr2s for racing I found almost enough to build two full engines just minus the blocks. The engine is a 4age, and other then the fact that the rods and pistons make mine look like tanks they are soo small, I don't know anything else about the motor accept also that the pistons are a lot stronger metal then mine, they definatly are not aluminum, so what i'm wonder is if this motor could be built up to take some serious induction? like I said everything accept for the blocks are here for these motors, so anybody that knows anything about them if you could fill me in, on some strengths and weaknesses, or direct me to a helpful site that would be great! thanks

Re: 4age???

the 4age is a good engine, it is a 1.6 liter, it has the best head toyota makes, the g-head, which means it flows alot and is high revving too. there is a 20 valve 4age that was released oversees that had 160hp, there ws also the 4agze which was supercharged and had 140hp, modest but the engine was capable of alot more. this engine is very lightweight and rev happy, perfect for 1st gen mr2s or any other light car.
