clicking from power window
Drivers side window will not go down, making a clicking noise. Put in a new switch, still clicking,, took off the door panel and the sound in coming from what appears to be some sort of relay,,not the motor,, has a number gm 25614182 ,, anyone know what the heck it is ? thanks

Re: clicking from power window
It is probably the relay that can allow the drivers door window to go down after releasing the switch. That relay is mounted near the front of the door, while the motor itself (which can also make a clicking noise) it is at the center of the door.

Re: clicking from power window
I had the same issue with my '02 Aurora's passenger window. Bought the replacement motor (special order at Autozone, around $75) ... took the panel off ... disconnected the old motor from the door. Before putting the new one in, I checked the old motor while off the door and IT WORKED! I reassembled everything with the same old parts and the window is fine. From that, I can only assume I hit a dead spot in the motor or somehow the motor bound up enough to stop functioning.
I had previously tried the "slam the door" trick and "beat it with a hammer" but these didn't work. My recommendation is to unbolt the motor from the door and check it while disconnected from the door assembly. (Just plug it back in to the connector and hit your window switch to test). You'll know if the motor works then. The clicking you hear is the regulator working ... it's sending power to the motor but obviously the motor isn't moving. Brian |
