I know that some of you already know about this, but for those that don't, Autozone has a free online GM S-Series Pick-ups and SUV's 1994-1999 Repair Guide:

EDIT: They removed the guides, they are still free but now you must register.

Re: Free repair guide

Thanks for the link, I've already let all my friends know about it and we all appreciate the info! On a side note I was wondering if anybody knew where to get a good repair manual for a 2000 Blazer LS 4 dr. All the ones I can find only go up to '99. Thanks!

chilton and haynes go up to 99 but most everything on a 99 is the same as a 2000. Best manuals you can buy are the dealer service manuals. For the 2000 they are a set of 3 i believe.

Found a Haynes through 2001 #24071 , but you are dead on about the shop manuals. The Haynes leave out little details like the fact there are 2 timing marks on the harmonic balancer and a lot of other helpful info.
The GM books are GMT/00ST1, GMT/00ST2 and GMT/00ST3.
Regards,
John

Re: Free repair guide

I found a set of the manuals at this link. http://www.auto-repair-manuals.com/product13842.html
Kind of expensive unless you'd plan on keeping your Blazer around for many years.
I did see one on EBay but I don't remember exactly what they were asking, I think about the same price.

Re: Free repair guide

Thread updated. You now have to register to get to the guides. The guides and registration are still free, they just made it a little harder to get to them.

Thank to NINFan for the heads up.

Re: Free repair guide

Maybe I did something wrong, but I followed the link to Autozone.com signed up and everything and they responded with "

Unfortunately, we do not have a repair guide for your 1996 Chevrolet Truck S10 Blazer 4WD 4.3L SFI 6cyl " So Hopefully I'm not the only guy too broke to buy a repair manual and they will update their database for all us poor schlepps who like working on their vehicles. Which leads to my next question. I'm trying to replace my serpentine belt. Is it as easy as loosening the tensioner? I started to do it then second guessed myself and stopped before fully removing the bolt that holds it.
