2001 Rough Idle/Missing At Speed
My 2001 Venture had the head gadkets replaced about a week ago and had been running great. Today the low fuel light kicked on and it started idling rough. I filled the tank thinking maybe it was sucking some gunk from the low fuel but it continued to idle rough.
On my way home, I was accelerating up a hill and it started missing (check engine light flashing) and continued to do so until it dropped below about 55. The check engine light went off and it seemed to be running okay. I tried accelerating again and it started missing again and then stopped when the speed dropped. When I got home it was still idling rough. Any ideas what I should be looking for? Could something have come loose after the repair? |

Re: 2001 Rough Idle/Missing At Speed
take a look at your plug wires ... mine was doing the same thing and it turned out that the garage buggered up one of the sparkplug boots and it was grounding out on the exhaust heat gaurd.

Re: 2001 Rough Idle/Missing At Speed
He replaced the three rear boots when he had the engine apart.
Could a bad O2 sensor cause these problems? The computer isn't setting a code so I'm not getting any help there. |

I took it back to the guy that replaced the head gaskets and he found one of the front boots arcing. He's going to replace it and then check the codes. Hopefully that is all it is. |
