sl-2 question

Does a 2000 SL2 have a timing belt----if so, when should it be changed?

Thanks in advance!

Re: sl-2 question

*Moved to S-Series forum(SL/SC/SW)*

all 1.9L S-series have a timing chain, not a belt. it does not need regular service, but it is very oil dependant. be sure to change your oil every 3 months/3000 mile for maximum engine life(regardless of dash light). if you hear a rattling noise from your engine, most commonly after a cold start, your timing chain may be begining to fail
